The check-up examines the main vital organs and blood vessels, using magnetic resonance
imaging, computer tomography and sonography. The goal of these examinations is to discover
possible signs of common diseases (mainly heart-circulatory problems, vascular abnormalities,
and the presence of tumours) in an early stage. The following organs will be examined:
a. Skull and brain
l risk of a stroke and cerebral haemorrhage l benign and malignant tumours
l inflammations l calcification and changes in the arteries
b. Carotid artery supplying blood to the brain
l calcification and changes in the arteries that can lead to stroke or cerebral haemorrhage
c. Heart (depending on age and risk factors)
l calcification of the coronary vessels, which can lead to a heart attack
l possible risk factors in the next five years l inflammation of the cardiac muscle and
l pericardium
d. Lungs (depending on age and risk factors)
l tumours l inflammation
l scar tissue l emphysema or other pulmonary illnesses
e. Upper abdomen
l evaluation of all the organs of the upper abdominal area (except for the stomach and
l intestines)
l checks for tumours in the liver, gall bladder, pancreas and kidneys
l checks for gall- and kidney stones l checks for cysts and lymph gland
l enlargements
l examination of the aorta l examination of the spleen
f. Lower abdomen and pelvic cavity
l evaluation of all the organs of the lower abdominal area, such as the bladder, prostrate
l (for men), uterus and ovaries (for women)
